Berlin, 5. - 7. October 2011

Invitation to the 7th Workshop Molecular Interactions
in vivo
- in vitro - in silico

The use and development of modern technologies in Life Sciences have become essential to human life. Whereby, the term "biotechnology" stands for a vast variety of processes, products and methods. Therefore, the complexity and interdisciplinary of this research field require a high level of expertise, a close link between different research areas and a continuous and careful transfer of technology-know-how.

The motivation of the workshop "Molecular Interactions" is to give young scientists - students, graduate students, young post-docs- insight into the latest trends, technologies and analytical approaches in biotechnology, to inspire them and to mediate contacts with experts from companies, universities and research institutions in Germany, Europe and worldwide.

The 7th Workshop of Molecular Interactions is subtitled with the theme of "in vivo - in vitro - in silico". Due to the ever-growing national and international audience and speakers, the topics Chemical and Technical Biology are extended by Synthetic Biology. Renowned scientists from Germany, Europe and overseas are invited to report on and discuss about the latest developments in their research field.

The scientific presentations will be expanded to a session on career planning, where young scientists have the opportunity to get to know the different scientific careers at universities, research institutions and companies. Speakers will present themselves and their various fields of work, career opportunities and answer questions from the audience: What is the daily work of a professor? What does a project manager/coordinator do? What are the responsibilities of a sales manager, a press officer or the head of administration?
